View of the Carriage and Wagon Examiner's track side hut used both for mess facilities and for storage of equipment on 17th Feb 1956. This type of workmen's facility was very common in the days of steam railways with gangs of men being based at one location for their working week. Therefore the facilities had to provide both accommodation for the men as well as providing storage for their equipment.
