Close up of image 'lnwrk1470' showing Kenilworth station's down platform and the distinctive tall signal box which was necessary to control both of the station's yards. Prior to 1883 before the station was rebuilt Kenilworth had two small goods yards with the three siding Coal Yard being behind where the signal box is seen in this view. On the other side of the approach to the station a small goods shed was to be found built at 90° to the platforms. The shed was accessed via a wagon turntable which also led to a carriage landing dock with two passing sidings connecting it to the down line. After the rebuilding the two yards were increased in size but the Coal Yard was moved to the site of the old goods shed and a new goods shed built on the site of the Coal Yard. A refuge siding for Leamington bound traffic was located at the end of the up platform.
