LMS Route: Rugby to Wolverhampton

Looking towards Kilsby tunnel's northern portal with a number of contractor's buildings erected on the left of the up line. Newton was primarily recording the construction of the Great Central Railway but on this occasion he recorded the work being undertaken to repair the castellated towers with Staffordshire blue engineering bricks.
