Looking towards Rugby and Weedon as Signal & Telegraph
workmen replace the old LNWR lower quadrant signal with an LMS upper quadrant
version. The LNWR signals were mounted on timber posts whilst their
replacements were mounted on metal poles. The GWR station is on the right, and
as can be seen, was about 5 or 6 feet higher than the LNWR station. The
exchange line installed between the LNWR and GWR in July 1908 can be seen on
the right rising in elevation as it passes the signal box in the distance.
