Leamington (Avenue) Station - Locomotives: lnwrlave4068

Ex-LNWR 4-4-2T Precursor Tank No 6980 passes through Leamington Avenue station on a down freight in the mid 1930s. The footbridge in the background passed over both the GWR and LNWR stations and was soon to be replaced by a subway in the late 1930s. Built as LNWR No 1728 by Crewe works in April 1911 it was renumbered by the LMS as No 6980 in July 1927 which it retained until March 1938 when it was withdrawn from service.
