LMS Route: Rugby to Leamington Spa (Avenue)

Looking towards Rugby in the early 1950s with the goods yard on the left opposite the main station which stood on the down line. The two-coach push-pull motor trains employed on the route only used the portion of platform in front of the station building. Whilst the full length of the platform is still being maintained and kept neat and tidy in this view by the late 1950s this was no longer the case. This resulted in the far portion of the platform becoming over grown, a classical sign of a line being run down prior to closure.
