LMS Route: Leamington to Weedon

View of Marton Junction signal cabin showing the coal bunker on the left and the toilet facilities outside the signal cabin door on 5th March 1966. The ex-LNWR signal cabin was opened on 1st August 1895 when the single line to Weeden was opened and had a 25 lever frame with six levers not commissioned - 8, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 22. As Weeden branch line was single track trains working the branch were controlled by a Webb & Thompson electric train staff. Single track was divided in to sections with passing points at key locations - normally stations - and each section was controlled by a train staff which ensured only one train could occupy each section of the route.
