Close up of image 'lnwrml3089' showing a DMU, complete with
'cats whiskers', standing part inside the converted carriage shed. The raised
platforms provide a safe and easy access for the driver to board the DMU. It is
believed that they were built using prefabricated concrete sections and served
only the first four sets of tracks. The third platform on the right appears to
be wider than the other two and probably served the sidings on both sides. Each
platform has a vertical post, a servicing point which is thought provided water
for topping up the tanks of the toilets. The one on the right has two which
would accord with our belief that it served two sets of sidings.
