Monument Lane Shed: lnwrmlsh3090

Ex-LMS 4-4-0 2P No 40678 stands with other locomotives on Monument Lane's scrapping line on 24th July 1961. Built as LMS No 678 by Derby Works in March 1932, No 40678 was officially withdrawn from 3A Bescot shed in July 1961 and scrapped by J Cashmore's of Great Bridge. Considering the date this photograph was taken, the transfer of the locomotive to Bescot shed was most likely only on paper.
