LMS Route: Leamington to Weedon
Napton & Stockton Station: lnwrn&s1319
Looking along Napton & Stockton's up platform as the
station porter passes over the staff for the next section of line. The
station's up platform was built in timber as was its buildings which offered
passengers only basic facilities. The platforms were however built to standard
height unlike those built on the nearby Rugby to Leamington branch being
erected in the last decade of the 19th century. As can be seen, the building
was a long narrow structure with the gent's toilets on the left, then the
general waiting room, ladies toilets and booking office. In the absence of
windows to the gentlemen's toilets raised skylights were employed to provide
both fresh air and lighting. As can be seen oil lamps on brackets were placed
on the station building's wall in the centre and at the end of the
building.
