LMS 4-6-0 Rebuilt Royal Scot class No 6149 'The Middlesex Regiment' is seen on a down express prior to it receiving smokebox deflectors circa 1947. Built by the North British Locomotive Company in December 1927 with parallel boiler, No 6149 was rebuilt just after the Second World War and remained in service until September 1963 when it was withdrawn from Longsight shed in Manchester to be scrapped in November 1963 by Crewe works.
