LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

Ex-LMS design 2-6-0 2MT No 46446 is seen at the head of a train of oil tank wagons in Nuneaton's marshalling yard circa 1957. Built at Crewe works in March 1949 No 46446 was designed by Ivatt, the LMS' last CME and was a member of class primarily built under British Railway's ownership. The design was considered an outstanding success one reason for the No 46446 remaining in service until December 1966 when it was withdrawn from Shrewsbury shed to be scrapped during September 1967 by J Cashmore of Newport.
