LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

Ex-LMS 2-8-0 8F No 48074 and ex-LMS 2-8-0 8F No 48263 are seen standing tender to tender in the road adjacent to Nuneaton's Ash Plant on 18th August 1964. Both locomotives were built by outside contractors, No 48074 by the Vulcan Foundry in December 1936 and No 48263 by the North British Locomotive Company as WD No 506 under a WD requisition in October 1940. Both locomotives were withdrawn from other sheds, No 48074 from Heaton shed in November 1967 and No 48263 from Agecroft in August 1966. The latter locomotive was involved in an accident at Spon End arches in December 1962.
