Ex-LMS 0-6-0 4F No 44488 is seen at the head of a mineral train crossing the Trent Valley line on to the Coventry branch on 7th April 1953. Built by the North British Locomotive Company in December 1927 No 44488 remained in service until March 1960 when it was withdrawn from Bescot shed to be scrapped in November 1960 by Crewe works.
