English Electric 1Co-Co1 Type 4 Diesel locomotive D225 passes through Nuneaton station on a down express service. The date of the photograph is not known but as the locomotive was named 'Lusitania' in April 1962, it must date before. The locomotive was built by the English Electric Vulcan Foundry in August 1959 and was renumbered and reclassified March 1973 under TOPs as 40025 which it carried until October 1982 when it was withdrawn from D09 Manchester Division MPD to be stored until May 1985 when it was scrapped by Doncaster works.
