A 1914 map showing Nuneaton shed, its original turntable and coaling stage together with the two branch lines to Coventry (on the left) and Leicester on the right. The access to the siding to Anker Mill was unusual insofar that it was part of the lines which ran alongside the coaling stage. It must have been used only on an occasional basis otherwise it would have been a major impediment to the operation of the shed and removed when the shed layout was remodelled.
