Ex-LNWR 5ft 6in 2-4-2T No 6665 slowly moves forward in Nuneaton yard ready for its next turn on 21st October 1934

Ex-LNWR 5ft 6in 2-4-2T No 6665 slowly moves forward in Nuneaton yard ready for its next turn on 21st October 1934. Partly seen behind the Webb tank locomotive is ex-LNWR 0-8-0 G1 Class No 9346. The 2-4-2T locomotive was built as LNWR No 1174 at Crewe works in June 1893, the locomotive was duly allocated a LMS number sometime post 1928 which it retained prior to being withdrawn in April 1936 to be scrapped. Another ex-LNWR engine partly in view, is 'Super D' 0-8-0 G1 class No 9346 a rebuild of a Webb B class four cylinder compound built by Crewe works as LNWR No 1241 in April 1903 rebuilt as a G1 class locomotive in September 1920 then renumbered by the LMS as No 9346 and again by British Railways as 49346 in May 1950 which it carried until May 1952 when it was withdrawn from 3D Aston shed to be scrapped.
