Ex-LNWR 0-8-2T 6F No 2341 is seen standing in line in front of
an unidentified ex-LNWR 4-4-0 Precursor class locomotive alongside Nuneaton
shed. The gentleman in the cab is a fellow enthusiast of Arthur Flowers and his
presence in the cab indicates that its probably a Sunday. Sundays were a
favourite day for enthusiasts to visit sheds because most locomotives were not
at work and the shed foreman would be more relaxed about visitors. Bowen-Cooke
0-8-2T 6F No 2341 was built at Crewe works in February 1917 and was renumbered
by the LMS as No 7897 which it carried until it was withdrawn from service in
June 1946 from Speke Junction shed in Liverpool for scrapping at Crewe
works.
