LMS 4-6-0 5MT No 5245 is seen standing along side one of Nuneaton's dispersal roads in company with other locomotives. They were known to enthusiasts as 'Black 5's' in order to differentiate them from Stanier's other 4-6-0 the 5XP Jubilee class locomotive which carried the LMS's Crimson Lake passenger livery. Built by the Armstrong Whitworth Company in September 1936 No 5245 remained in service until May 1968 when it was withdrawn from Newton Heath shed in Manchester to be scrapped during August 1968 by TW Ward Ltd of Killamarsh.
