Looking in the direction of Walsall with Perry Barr station's very simple and unimposing entrances on the left. The gates to both entrances are swung open and adjacent to them are: on their outside, LNWR Posterboards advertising times, fares etc; on their inside, a LNWR timber notice advising passengers as to the destinations available from the platforms; and inbetween, is LNWR sign stating 'London North Western Railway' in small letters on the top row and, in larger letter on the bottom row, 'Perry Barr Station'. Facing the photographer is a sign which states beneath the station name 'Bookin Office & Parcels Office'.
