Close up of image 'lnwrrm26' showing the old ex-LNWR stationary boiler that was erected alongside the Erecting Workshop. It was standard practice for railway companies to use the boilers from withdrawn locomotives as a source of power or heating. This photograph was taken on 27th August 1938 and clearly shows only the small corrugated iron structure sheltering the fireman and coal supply. By 1954 the space between the stationary boiler and the Erectors Workshop has been covered over as can be seen in image 'lnwrrm978a'.
