View from the footplate of ex-LMS 2-8-0 8F No 48751 of Rugby No 5 signal cabin with the station seen in the distance. The corrugated metal hut was used by the Permanent Way gang for their mess facilities. The signal gantry controlled access from the sidings and up goods line to the up through lines and up platform lines which were themselves controlled by electric colour signals.
