Looking south towards Rugby's No 4 signal cabin with the bay platforms on the left and the down platform line on the right. Rugby's No 4 signal cabin required one signalman to operate the 90 lever frame. On the extreme left of the photograph are the former Midland Railway buildings built circa 1850 as part of Rugby's second station seen in image 'lnwrrm2468'. The bay used for trains to Leicester which accommodated platforms 3 and 4 were located to the left of the single storey building. The other bay, which accommodated platforms 5 and 6, were used by the LNWR for their services to Leamington, Stafford, and Birmingham.
