An aerial view showing Rugby station's dual width train shed and the goods yard which lay to the north of the station. The bow roof structure which span the full width of the railway was designed to accommodate the distinctive crossovers that allowed Rugby to receive and dispatch two trains at each through platform without impeding the other train. The side panels which were also a distinctive part of Rugby's train shed were to minimise the effect of the station being built considerably above the ground. On the left between Murray Road and Railway Terrace is the site of the Post Office Sorting House with part of the cattle market to its left.
