Rugby Station: lnwrrm2583

A new tank for holding diesel engine oil is being mounted on its brick stand in preparation of the dieselisation of the yard. The carriage shed and the station's roof girders are just visible on the left. The travelling crane is different to that seen in image 'lnwrrm2434'. The tank was required because Rugby was to accommodate Diesel Multiple Units (DMU) sets prior to the introduction of Electric Multiple Units (EMU) sets as part of the electrification of the West Coast line.
