British Railways 4-6-2 7MT Britannia Class No 70027 'Rising Star' takes the Coventry line out of Rugby passing Rugby No 7 Signal Cabin on 26th February 1962

British Railways 4-6-2 7MT Britannia Class No 70027 'Rising Star' takes the Coventry line out of Rugby at the head of a Class E freight service having passed Rugby No 7 Signal Cabin on 26th February 1962. A Class E service described the following 'Express freight, livestock, perishable or ballast train partly fitted, with not less than four braked vehicles next to the engine and connected by the automatic brake pipe. Express freight, livestock, perishable or ballast train with a limited load of vehicles, NOT fitted with the automatic brake'. Built by Crewe works in October 1952, No 70027 was to remain in service until July 1967 when it was withdrawn from 12A Kingmoor shed in Carlisle to be scrapped by the Motherwell Machinery and Scrap Company of Wishaw.
