Looking north towards Clifton Road bridge and Rugby with the lines from Northampton and Market Harborough on the right on 9th April 1932. The up main line to Euston is on the far right and, in the distance, can just be seen passing beneath Clifton Road bridge where the Junction signal cabin was located. The up line to Northampton is in the centre and on the left, the loop line which ran parallel for some distance with the Northampton line. It was used to hold up trains, primarily goods traffic, which had passed through the station and had to wait for a path on the line to Northampton. See image 'lnwrrm3047' for an opposite view of this section of line.
