British Railways built Peppercorn K1 2-6-0 No 62039 is seen with steam lifting from its valves outside Rugby shed. John cannot recall why No 62039 was visiting the shed but in all probability it had brought in a service from Stamford. Built by the North British Locomotive Company on Glasgow in September 1949, No 62039 was to remain in service only for a short period of time being withdrawn from 36E Retford Thrumpton shed on the Great Central.
