Crewe North shed's Railway Steam Breakdown Crane is seen lifting a number of precast concrete beams on to the deck of the rebuilt Clifton Road Junction railway bridge. The motive power appears to be supplied by a British Railways Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 locomotive. The Steam Breakdown Crane was built by Cowlairs, Sheldon and Company of Carlisle.
