The steel lattice sections stored on flat wagons on the former line are the overhead catenary sections used to support the power cables. The line to Leicester closed the previous year so the presence of the brake van in the distance might indicate an engineer's train removing the track or it might just be being used as sidings associated with the electrification of the West Coast route through Rugby.
