Close up of ex-LMS 2-8-0 8F No 48173 is seen standing alongside Rugby shed's ash plant on 19th July 1964. To the right is one of the new electric locomotives whilst beyond the former Testing Station and beyond this too is the viaduct carrying the former Great Central Railway. Built by Crewe works in June 1943, No 48173 was to remain in service until July 1965 when it was withdrawn from 6B Mold Junction shed to be scrapped.
