Ex-LNWR 'Super D' No 48930 is seen coming off shed running tender first and heading towards Rugby's yards via the bidirectional running line circa 1960. Built as LNWR No 1248 by Crewe works as a Webb B class four cylinder compound in April 1903, it was rebuilt as G1 class locomotive by the LMS in March 1932 and then again as G2A class locomotive in March 1943. Whilst still a B class locomotive, the LMS re-numbered it as No 8930 in August 1928 whilst British Railways renumbered it as No 48930 in May 1948 which it retained until December 1962 when it was withdrawn from 3A Bescot shed to be scrapped.
