A panoramic aerial view of the approach into Rugby of the Leicester line, the exchange sidings and the goods yard in 1930. The majority of the housing seen on the left would have been occupied by employees of the LNWR. The allotments seen behind the houses is a reminder that railway employees were often associated with gardening, be it to provide food for the family's table or the tendering of flower beds at many of its rural stations. This land would have been purchased by the LNWR as a precaution in case they needed to expand sometime in the future.
