Close up of the 1946 aerial view of the remains of the former Midland Railway engine shed and turntable which closed in 1903. The four road shed has been demolished in its entirety whereas the building accommodating the rear two-road shed has been partially demolished. The part of the building accommodating the engines inside the shed having also been demolished. The turntable remained in use beyond the shed's closure but by 1946 had been taken out of service.
