An official view of the new Signal Gantry and the Great Central Bridge photographed on 30th July 1896. The raised line on the extreme left is the Down Goods, The Down line from London is on the left in the cutting. The Down line from Northampton is on the left in the foreground whilst the line from Peterborough is in the centre. The shed's lodging house for footplate crew from other sheds whose trip to Rugby required an overnight stay prior to returning home is the multi-storey building seen beneath the GC bridge on the right.
