LMS 4-6-0 Royal Scot class No 6145 'The Duke of Wellingtons Regiment (West Riding)' with the down Euston to Liverpool express in June 1939. The semaphore signalling adjacent to the Rugby No 5 Signal Cabin appears to be still in use to control traffic even though the new colour lighting is evident. The top of the smokebox door is discoloured through various reporting numbers being written in chalk but not properly cleaned after use.
