Rugby Station - LMS Period Locomotives: lnwrrm776b

Close up showing two unidentified locomotives, a LMS 2-6-4T and a 4-6-0 Black 5 standing by the water columns

Close up of image "lnwrrm776" showing just how busy the station was, being the focal point of a number of lines in June 1939. Here we can see two unidentified locomotives standing adjacent to the water column being held by the signals. Three down lines ran outside the train shed, two are currently occupied, one by a tank locomotive with the line in the centre accommodating some carriages. An optical illusion makes it appear that the third outer line ends in with a buffer stop. This is not the case as the buffer stop is provided for a siding commencing from the southern end of the station, the third outer line curving away to the right out of sight of the camera.
