Rugby Station Pre-grouping Locomotives: lnwrrm838

LNWR 4-4-2T 'Precursor Tank' No 920 is seen on an up local Northampton passenger train passing under the GC bridge circa 1920-22. This locomotive was one of the last twenty locomotives of the class to be built and consequently were fitted with 3 foot 3 inch bogie wheels (see 'lnwrrm825' for class history'). Built at Crewe works in August 1907 No 920 was later allocated by the LMS No 6820 which it carried until it was withdrawn from service in December 1939 from 5A Crewe (North) shed.
