LNWR 4-6-0 Prince of Wales class No 1670 is seen on the 'Sunny South' express train passing under the GC bridge circa 1921-3. The 'Sunny South' express was operated as a joint initiative by the London & North Western Railway and the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway after grouping by the LMS and SR. The service operated between Liverpool Lime Street and Brighton commencing in 1905 and ending sometime in the 1930s.
