A post May 1915 view of Rugby station's down platform as a LNWR train for Euston arrives opposite the newsstand. A 'Whale' 4-4-0 'Precursor' Class locomotive is seen standing at the platform. The absence of Rugby's Station Master, who was easily identifiable as he wore a top hat, would indicate that the train standing at the platform was a local or secondary service as he would be present on the platform for the arrival of all major services.
