Railway Terrace built by the LNWR to connect to the station and which was lined on either side with railway sleepers

Railway Terrace built by the LNWR to connect to the station and which was lined on either side with railway sleepers. Windows on Warwickshire claim that Railway Terrace was laid out as a private road by the LNWR and lined with sleepers in 1840. Peter Elliott in his book Rugby's Railway Heritage recounts contemporary comments stating that the road was 'about a mile long, and is very much like a tunnel with the top off. The only thing you can see in it is dust which is never out of your eyes.' Peter states that it remained railway property until circa 1900.
