Hunters Wagon works were next to Rugby goods yard and were responsible for repairing many of the wagons used on the railways. As was often found at many railway locations (see Coventry Parcel Depot) other than moving a large number of vehicles it was often uneconomic to have a locomotive on stand by to move single wagons. Horses therefore played an essential role in providing traction in to the 1950s as can be seen by this photo. C1953
