LMS 3F 0-6-0 'Jinty' No 16462 stands immediately in front of Rugby No 1 shed on 14th February 1932. The nickname 'Jinty' is commonly used today to describe this class of locomotive yet railwaymen say it was never used by staff. The 'Jinty' was the ubiquitous shunting engine of the LMS although in the mid to late 1930s the LMS started to deploy the classic 0-6-0 diesel shunter which British Railways adopted in both the Class 8 and the the Class 9 guise.
