An unidentified Lancashire & Yorkshire 4-6-0 Dreadnought Class locomotive and a LNWR 4-6-0 Prince of Wales class locomotive take it in turn to pick up water circa 1922-3. The two companies merged in 1922 a year ahead of the main groupings across the country whereby 123 independent railway companies were merged into what is now referred as the big four.
