Looking across Perrot Street over bridge towards the Wolverhampton to New Street line on 1st June 1962. On the embankment on the extreme right of the photograph is a brake van on a goods train travelling towards Wolverhampton High Level. Whilst there was a passenger service between Walsall and New Street using this route there was no such equivalent service from Walsall to Wolverhampton as this was better served via other routes. Traffic using this junction to head towards Wolverhampton was therefore limited to freight services.
