LMS Route: Rugby to Wolverhampton

Ex-LMS 4-6-0 Royal Scot class No 46168 'The Girl Guide' hurtles through Tile Hill with an express for London in 1958. This working came through Tile Hill every day at 4:50pm so, not surprisingly, was dubbed “the ten-to-fiver” by the junior school children who eagerly awaited its arrival. It was almost always pulled by a Royal Scott class engine although there was the occasional Jubilee class on duty.
