View of the station after the main station building on the bridge had been rebuilt as seen on 15th April 1961. It would appear that the damage caused by the fire wasn't as severe as it seemed from looking at earlier photographs as not only are the girders supporting the original building still retained but so is the brick base which stand on the girders. The most obvious difference between this and earlier photographs is the erection of new passenger accommodation on both island platforms. In addition, whereas the earlier photographs show no building on the island platform serving the slow lines, a new building has been erected. This together with the well kept flower beds indicates that the platform was still being used on occasion.
