The new station sign provided by British Railways is surrounded by what appears to be bricks with more seen beyond the workmen's hut. At the base of the nearest lamppost a porters' barrow is seen lying in a horizontal position, possibly having been used to move the brick from the new buildings to this point for removal by train. The building seen just above the wall was a substantial carriage shed of at least eight roads.
