Warwick (Milverton) Shed: lnwrwar_shed1428

Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48016 and ex-LMS 3MT 2-6-2T No 40078 are seen in company with other Warwick allocated locomotives in raising steam for their next trips. The wagons in the foreground are being used by the shed to collect and ship the ash away from the shed. Built at Crewe in January 1936, No 48016 remained in service until November 1965 when it was withdrawn from Saltley shed before scrapped in February 1966 at J Cashmore, of Great Bridge. Stanier 2-6-2T No 40078 was built at Crewe works in March 1935 and remained in service until November 1962 when it was withdrawn from Bangor shed being scrapped in January 1963 at Crewe works.
