A very dirty ex-LNWR 7F 0-8-0 'G2', No 49417, is seen having being turned 270° on Milverton shed's single road turntable circa 1955. Due to the limited space available in the yard the turntable had just the one road for both accessing and leaving the turntable so it was used simply to rotate the locomotive 360° in order to allow the locomotive to face the direction of its next turn of work. The overgrown grits working life. Built at Crewe in October 1921 No 49417 was to be withdrawn from traffic in November 1959 from Crewe South shed to be scrapped in February 1960 by Crewe works.
